Conveyor is for the horizontal and vertical movement of workpiece jigs for loading or unloading the latter w.r.t. pretreatment-, electroplating-, and post-treatment- tanks. The jigs have a top carrier bar (a) making the cathode connection. The conveyor consists of a trolley moving horizontally and fitted with a hoist provided with bearings on which bar (a) rests. The hoist bearings provide half the vertical movement, and then a pair of hooks are responsible for the remainder of the vertical stroke of the conveyor. The pair of hooks are pref. joined by a strap which can be moved both horizontally and vertically on the trolley. Suspension of workpiece baskets in a row of tanks employed in an electroplating process which is conducted in an inert atmos. to exclude air.
