The compact sound cine cassette has a double track film, with a sound track at each edge, and wound between two reels. One reel is set under a recess in the top face of the cassette while the other reel is set over a recess in the bottom, so that the film drive coupling is attached to the take up reel whichever way the cassette is set into the projector. The film drive is through slots at the corners and by sprocket slots on each side of the film gate window. The optic path is taken through the top of the cassette and out of the front via an internal prism. No film loops need be taken out of the cassette so that film distortion is kept to a minimum.
|
