Room heating in buildings is effected by means of a layer element for heat supply in the room dividers such as walls floors or ceiling. Heat is supplied through a layer type conductor thermally spaced from the room and the ambient air using a heating medium between room and outside temp. The thermal energy is supplied by a medium at below 20 deg.C, possibly using heat from a solar absorber and/or a heat store supplied with sun heat. Building pref. has heat lagged walls, floor or ceiling for containing the conducting layer for the heating medium (13) which is thus thermally spaced from the respective room and the surrounding air. Pref. the conductor should have a slot (13) or duct (16) for air supply arranged between lagging layers (11, 12) in wall, floor or ceiling.
