<p>The low pressure hydraulic accumulator (18) which may be used as an emergency supply of lubricating oil consists of a cylindrical housing (20) containing a weighed piston (22). The supply to the machine (R) is by means of the pipe (6) connected to the outlet (26) in the base of the cylinder. The oil returns through the pipe (12) and collector (14) to the inlet (32) at the top of the cylinder. This arrangement maintains a constant supply pressure irrespective of the position of the piston (22). When required, the accumulator can be recharged by the pump (4) which draws the oil from the top of the cylinder and delivers it to the underside of the piston (22) through the non-return valve (10).</p> |
