<p>The hydraulically actuated grab can be used in lifting of tubular piles or ramming tools of great weight, weighing from ten to two hundred tons. The grab is used as connecting element between this tool and the crane. The grab is a double walled sleeve with one rigid wall (1). The second wall (4) is deformed in radial direction. Hydraulic pressure deforms this wall which comes into contact with the tubular object. The deformable wall can have lengthwise arranged metallic lamellae whose ends are held by end rings (2, 3). The lamellae are deformed by a flexible wall (5) which is directly loaded with hydraulic pressure.</p> |
