<p>The system uses two long coupling rods (1, 2) which run parallel to the vehicle longitudinal axis. Buffers (C) are fitted to the outer ends of the rods, and their inner ends are swivel mounted to the under-frame immediately over the leading axle. The rods are carried in loose guides and are cross connected by a triangular framework (4). A rod, carrying the draw hook (5) is pivoted to the frame. When the buffer rods deform, as on a curve, the frame can twist and give a correcting moment.</p> |
