HF welding bookbinding equipment - has foil strips attached to front and rear covers using inner and outer electrodes

The bookbinding method uses high frequency welding for inserting a book block into a binding cover. A flexible foil strip (5) is fixed to the outside of the first and the last cover sheet (1) on a longitudinal edge so that it can be bent outwards away from the book block. After the insertion of the book block into the binding cover (7) an interior electrode is inserted between the first and the last cover sheet of the book block and the corresponding foil strips (5). The freely movable ends of the foil strips are pressed through the insertion against the inner side surfaces of the binding cover. Outer electrodes are then placed from outside against the binding covers in the area of the foil strip ends which are then welded against the binding cover by the high frequency method.
