Steam saturation unit in a textile finishing appts. has an expansion chamber for the steam to be saturated with water or condensation. Appts. comprises a standing boiler with a lower expansion chamber. Above this there are a number of horizontal contact and dampening sections which are open at top and bottom placed between or above spray jets delivering a counter stream of water or condensation against the expanded steam rising upwards. The risk of steam escape under pressure is averted, and it is ensured that the steam is sufficiently saturated for textile finishing applications.
