<p>A photographic printer or enlarger permitting full control of picture quality without the need for the making of test strips or an exposure meter to obtain correct exposure. The instrument is set up at an angle so that a projector head set on an inclined column projects an image on to a paper-holder held at an angle permitting easy viewing by a seated operator. The paper-holder consists of a shallow rectangular dish (5) with three raised sides (7) and one open edge which is the upper end when the holder is held in its inclined working position; it is closed by a rigid transparent plate (8) held by clips (9) to make a watertight joint. The dish is filled with developer, and all bubbles are removed from the surface of the plate (8) and a sheet of printing paper is introduced through the open end (10). The exposure is then made in the dark room, with the operator having a full view of the development of the print which proceeds simultaneously with the exposure in the developer.</p> |
