Directional radio waveguide laying method - uses clamping unit at foot of mast and flexible waveguide section at top of mast

A method is used for laying an electromagnetic circular waveguide in a vertical position on a mast. The waveguide is made of several discrete lengths of piping these being fixed to the mast by means of sliding clamps, and is of the type used in broad-band directional ratio engineering. To enable the waveguide to be fastened to the mast in a simple manner without so much expense being involved as when conventional methods are used, and yet to allow movement of the waveguide sections due to temperature variations to be taken up, according to the proposed method, the waveguide is fixed, at the foot of the mast, in a suitable clamping unit for connection of an incoming cable. At the upper end of the waveguide a flexible waveguide section is connected to enable expansion or contraction of the waveguide to be balanced out.
