<p>The valve (1) with a housing (2) fluid inlet and outlet apertures (11, 12) is particularly used as a cut-off valve for rapid closure of fluid feed conduits. In the housing is a plunger (7) with a crossways hole (9) and which works in conjunction with the inlet and outlet apertures (11, 12) in the housing. A piston and cylinder arrangement (3, 5) moves the plunger (7) inside the housing, moving it from a position where its cross hole (9) is out of contact with the flow apertures (11, 12) to one where it is aligned with them. A loose ball (10) fitted in the body hole (9) acts as closure unit, working in conjunction with a seat arrangement (13) at the outlet aperture (12).</p> |
