Electrical connecting elements (3) of U-shape each have one limb extending through a slot (9) in a strip (8). The bases of the elements are spot welded to the strip along the sides of the slot. The strip (8) therefore serves as a common terminal for all the elements (3). The strip has a screw threaded hole (13) for the reception of a terminal screw by which all the elements (3) may be connected to earth. The assembly of elements (3) and strip (8), with the exception of the upper ends of the elements (3) and the end of the strip (8) having the screw threaded hole (13), is embedded in insulating material. The underside of the insulating material may be shaped to enable it to be snapped on to a suitably shaped supporting bar.
