1534494 Reciprocating pumps INDUSTRIE PIRELLI SpA 21 April 1977 [7 May 1976] 16684/77 Heading F1A In an installation for pumping cooling oil through electric cables a respective pumping chamber is connected to each end of each cable together with respective solenoid valves and accumulator reservoirs, Fig. 1 (not shown), and the pumps at the opposite ends of the cables are operated alternately with the valving set so that oil is first pumped from one end of the cables to the other and into the respective reservoirs, and then pumped in the reverse direction. Each pump comprises a plurality of bellows 49 defining respective pumping chambers 46, each bellows being actuated hydraulically by a respective piston 51 against springs 59, 54 and having inlet and outlet check-valves M', M. Pistons 51 of each pump are arranged radially about a drive eccentric mechanism, Fig. 4 (not shown). |
