The clamp is intended for use in switching plants. It has a clamp body consisting of two parts with opposite recesses which form channels for contacting the cables, and at least one screw joining together the two parts. Each channel (208, 208', 216, 216') for a cable has a non-circular cross-section, and the clamp body (203, 210) has on its outside (206, 214) bearing surfaces (204, 212, 204', 212') for a pressing tool. The clamp is designed to hold two cables parallel to each other separated by approx. their own diameter. The screw (219) passes between the two cables.
