Tubular elements (3, 4, 7) are, in an upright manner and arranged next to one another without joints in at least one row, anchored in the ground via concrete foundations (5). In the upper part of their cavity, they have above a gravel bed (8) a humus filling (9) for receiving plants (10) which grow out of the upper end of the tubular elements. The tubular elements can run along a straight or zigzag-shaped line. In order to break up the appearance, the tubular elements can support a further row of tubular elements (7) assembled without joints which are in each case arranged in such a manner that they leave parts of the tubular elements (3, 4) supporting them free towards the top. <IMAGE>
