<p>The hoist winch drum has a guide mechanism directing the wire rope into a spiral groove formed in it. The guide mechanism comprises a tubular sleeve (22) non-rotating but sliding over the drum, and whose internal dia. is only slightly greater than the external dia. of the turns of rope wound onto the drum. A slot (24) is formed in the sleeve, extending roughly in the peripheral direction and through which the rope (18') is passed, and where the rope winds on and off the drum the sleeve engages with the groove in the latter. The sleeve can be a length of cylindrical metal tube, from whose periphery a guide piece protrudes, fitting between the flanges of a U-section guide rail on the frame and parallel to the drum axis.</p> |
