The coupling for a metal transmission pipe employs a metal sleeve (3) and seals (23) consisting of sealing rings (6, 7) and bordering rings (16, 17). The sleeve has a central stop (10) both sides of which are conical broadened regions (11) terminating in nearly cylindrical end pieces (12). The pipe ends are coupled together with the sleeve by compressing parts of the sleeve together with the aid of jaws (13, 14) which form depressions (18) in the pipe wall.
