PURPOSE:To check more in detail the cause and the state of a trouble by detecting whether each mechanism works normally at the start of an information processor, performing self-diagnosis for the function of each mechanism while an abnormal state code, etc., are displayed, and displaying this diagnostic result. CONSTITUTION:The subject processor is constituted of a control module 10, a memory module 12, a picture process module 14, etc. The module 12 consists of a ROM 37 which checks each hardware at the start and at the same time stores an initial program loader containing a self-diagnostic test program, etc. In the case whether each mechanism works normally at the start of the information processor is detected, when the abnormality is detected, this abnormal state code, etc., are displayed. Under such conditions, when the self-diagnosis is instructed, the self-diagnosis is carried out to the function of each mechanism, and the result of this diagnosis is displayed. Thus it is possible to check more in detail the cause and the state of a hardware trouble. |
