<p>This is an addn. to BE 831384, which described the surface coating on roads. When an excess of hydrocarbon binder appears, the surface roughness of the coating is restored by spreading a granulate (a) on the smooth surface, followed by heating to attain 100-200 degrees C. at 1 mm depth, and then compacting so 2/3 of the height of granulate (a) is embedded in the hot binder. The novelty in this Addn. is the use of granulates na) specified for surface coating, and using an amt. so the total area of shadow projected onto the surface using normal incident light is 50-90%, pref. 65-85%, of the road surface being treated. The pref. amts. of granulate are:- (1) 3.5-6.5 1/m2 of granulate 6/10, or (2) 5.5-10 1/m2 of granulate 6/10, or (2) 5.5-10 1/m2 of granulate 10/14, or (3) 6-11 1/m2 of granulate 16/22. Synthetic granulates are pref. used.</p> |
