1530533 Sulphenamides BAYER AG 12 Nov 1976 [17 Nov 1975] 47202/76 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] A process for preparing a sulphenamide, which comprises reacting a compound containing one or two olefinic double bonds with a sulphonic acid amide-N-sulphene chloride corresponding to the general Formula (II): in which R represents a straight-chain or branched alkyl radical having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical having 5 to 7 carbon atoms, an aralkyl radical having 7 to 12 carbon atoms, an aryl radical having 6 or 10 carbon atoms (which may be substituted by at least one alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, halogen atom, C 1-4 alkoxy or nitro group), or a radical: R 6 (R 7 )N- where R 6 and R 7 are the same or different and represent an alkyl radical having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or, together with the nitrogen atom, form a 6- membered heterocyclic ring system which contains one ring oxygen atom; and R 1 represents a straight-chain or branched alkyl radical having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a cycloalkyl radical having 5 to 7 carbon atoms, an aralkyl radical having 7 to 12 carbon atoms or an aryl radical having 6 or 10 carbon atoms which may be substituted by one or more alkyl radicals having 1 to 8 carbon atoms or by a halogen atom or by a C 1-4 alkoxy or nitro group. The products are vulcanization retarders for natural or synthetic rubbers. |
