1531150 Archery bows VICTOR COMPTOMETER CORP 11 Nov 1976 [31 March 1976] 46947/76 Heading A6S An archery bow comprises a handle 12, Fig. 1, limbs 14, 16 flexed to propel an arrow, a pair of cables 22, 24 each attached at its end 260 to the handle and at the other end to a drawstring 38, eccentric wheels 150 and idle pulleys 120 at the outer ends of the limbs for the cables, and draw weight adjustment pulleys 220 on the handle. Each cable has a first end part 260 attached to the handle 12, a second intermediate part 262 extending to one of the idle pulleys 120, a third intermediate part 264 extending to one of the draw weight adjustment pulleys 220, a fourth intermediate part 266 passing to one of the eccentric wheels 150 and a fifth, end, part 268 extending to one end of the drawstring 38. To provide tuning of the bow, each limb 14, 16 has a slot 80, Fig. 8, at its inner end for a socket headed bolt 70 adjustably screwed into a tapped hole 73 in the handle end to hold the limb end against a soft pad 44, a swivel joint 48, 66 allowing variation of the angle between the limb and handle 12. Each eccentric wheel, e.g. the wheel 150, Figs. 2, 4, has larger and smaller diameter grooves 178, 180 and a transverse bore 182 for the cable 22, &c., a set screw securing the cable within the bore. Each wheel 150, &c. is eccentrically journalled on a pin 152 across a bracket 90, &c. secured to a limb end. Each bracket 90, &c. also carries pivotally a bracket .124 journalling an idle pulley 120. Each end 260 of a cable 22, Fig. 5, is secured by a stud 234 to a bracket 190 fast upon the end of the handle 12. The cable 22 engages the side of the draw weight adjustment pulley 220 journalled upon a lever 200 angularly adjustably secured by a bolt 203 to the bracket 190. Indicia 218, 219, &c. corresponding to different draw weights are provided on the lever 200 and the bracket 190.
