FIELD: chemistry.SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for producing synthesis gas. Method includes plasma heating of carbonaceous layer 13 in bottom section 12 of reactor vessel 10. Solid material is fed through hole 23 in middle section 22 of reactor vessel 10. As a result of reaction in middle section 22 a mixture of synthesis gas with unreacted particles of solid material forms. Method includes abrupt cooling of upper part of upper section of reactor vessel 10 to temperature approximately 850 °C by adding water, steam or mixture thereof through holes 42.
