An installation for absorbing solar energy for the purpose of modifying the temperature of a fluid comprises three solar-energy collectors (1a; 1b; 1c) which form an oblong parallelepipedal block (2) and a reservoir under pressure (3), the whole being arranged in a wall (4) of a building. The parallelepipedal block has essentially the same dimensions or multiples or sub-multiples of those of the construction elements (5) making up the wall (4). The fluid is heated in a closed circuit (6a, 6b, 6c, 7, 8) and transmits its heat in a serpentine (9) to the fluid to be heated contained in the reservoir (3). The installation can be used either as an assembly for production of domestic or industrial hot water, or as an auxiliary for a conventional central heating installation which will then be fed in a bypass by the installation during the entire time of the effective presence of the sun. It has the advantage of integrating well into any new or existing wall, of which it forms a part. <IMAGE>
