<p>PURPOSE:To improve the utilizing efficiency of a relay line by disconnecting the relay line of a line exchange network depending whether a packet utilizing the line exchange network exists or not in a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:When a relay line utilizes a line exchange network 2, the connection of an exchange line is requested from a routing control section 5 to a line connection control section 6. The control section 6 decides a prescribed exchange line to an exchange network 2 via a line control section 8 and connects the line and sends a packet to the packet communication equipment of a communication opposite party. When the transmission is finished, a timer control section 7 starts generating a prescribed time. When a new packet is not received by the communication equipment 1 for the prescribed time generated by the timer control section 7 or no packet exists, the communication equipment 1 generates the disconnection request of the exchange network 2.</p> |
