PURPOSE:To obtain good surface brightness by rolling a stock by use of a roll whose average roughness is specified in the final pass or the final stand. CONSTITUTION:A stainless steel strip after hot rolling is annealed and pickled; further, the strip is preliminarily rolled by applying a liquid lubricant of <=1mum thickness to the roll surface and by a daft of >5%. In the case that succeeding cold rollings are performed, the strip is rolled by use of work rolls 2 having an average roughness Ra of <=0.15mum in the final pass or the final stand. Hence, oil pits are restrained and surface brightness of the stainless steel strip 4 is improved. |
