The structured body is for use as a sheet of packing material etc. and also for assembly with others to form part of a vehicle body. It comprises a sheet with a surface distorted to form a series of integral bosses and recesses close together, each being of triangular section in a plane parallel to the plane of the sheet. The edges of each recess are formed by those of three bosses round it. The adjacent apexes of these three bosses are spaced apart for a distance equal to a fraction of the length of each of their side. The surface at the tops of the bosses are in the same plane, forming a discontinuous flat surface on one side of the body, while those at the bases of the recesses perform the same function on the other side.
