PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system that further improves security of communication between an information processing device and a storage device.SOLUTION: An information processing system S comprises: an information processing device 1; and a storage device 2 connected to the information processing device 1 through a USB cable 3. The information processing device 1 comprises: an input unit 53 for receiving authentication information input for authentication processing for the storage device 2; a second decryption unit 56 that receives encrypted basic authentication information transmitted from the storage device 2 and made to be authentication source information for the storage device 2's authentication processing, and decrypts the received basic authentication information; a second authentication unit 57 for performing authentication by using the authentication information and the decrypted basic authentication information; an encryption unit 58 that when authentication by the storage device 2's first authentication unit 45 is successful, encrypts the authentication information by using an encryption method differing from an encryption method by which the basic authentication information has been encrypted; and a second transmission unit 55 for transmitting the encrypted authentication information to the storage device 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
