1468215 Waterproof sheet material PERMANITE Ltd 14 May 1975 [23 May 1974] 23150/74 Headings C3N and C3P Self supporting waterproof sheet material is composed of a mixture comprising (a) 5 to 30 weight per cent of bituminous material, (b) a synthetic polymeric component comprising an uncured ethylene/propylene or ethylene/propylene/diene copolymer and a smaller proportion of a synthetic polar elastomer or styrene/butadiene rubber, and (c) particulate filler. The compositions may also contain fibres, e.g. glass, mineral, animal, vegetable or synthetic resin fibres; plasticizers, e.g. hydrocarbon oils and epoxidized soya bean oil; and fire retardents; and the sheets may be used as damp course and roofing material. Examples describe sheets of compositions comprising bitumen, copolymers of ethylene and propylene with hexadiene-1,4 or ethylidene norbornene, nitrile rubber, ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, carbon black, hydrated calcium silicate or calcium carbonate, nylon or polyester fibres, paraffinic and epoxidized soya bean oils, and optionally antioxidant, zinc oxide, antimony trioxide, chlorinated paraffin or chlorosulphonated polyethylene. |
