The coaxial connector consists of an inner contact (2) and an outer contact (3) both embedded in an insulator (4). The coaxial cable inner conductor is joined to the inner contact. The outer contact consists of a metal tube open at its contact end and tapering at the other end down to the diameter of the cable. The tapered end of the outer contact has pointed fingers (7) that fold round and bite through the outer insulating sheath of the cable to contact its outer conductor. The outer contact is made by punching out a strip of metal and then folding into a tube.
