An electrical switch or interrupter operates with sealed electrode to wiring points, ensuring hermetically enclosed switching elements and a compact overall assembly. The interrupter is based on the use of individual reed relays (12, 13) arranged in a circle around a central operating permanent magnet (7) and lends itself to limit switching. Each of the group of eight or so reed elements are mutually parallel, their connecting leads (14, 15) being brought out to one end of the overall assembly. Operation may be to close or open the switches by depression of a rod (10) carrying the magnet along the axis of the cylinder formed by the reed group, the rod acting against a helical return spring (8).
|
