A reversible or two pole electrical switch (1) is driven from a solenoid. The switch is intended to overcome some of the problems associated with the fragility and sealed nature of reed - relay switches. The switch electrodes and associated mechanism can be dismantled for replacement and adjustment at will. The operation is based on the use of two bar magnets positioned in line with respect to each other and in opposition magnetically, i.e. pole to pole. The lower magnet which drives the wiper of the switch contacts has a surrounding centre-tapped coil which by virtue of the current direction can cause switch closure through two positions.
|
