Soaking treatment for textiles esp. before washing - using agent contg. at least ninety per cent sodium percarbonate

Process for soaking textiles in an aq. bath comprises operating at 10-60 degrees C in the presence of a soaking agent contg. sodium percarbonate. A solid soaking agent comprises >=90% sodium percarbonate apt. mixed with sodium carbonate. The process is used to treat clothes etc. before washing esp. light coloured fabrics stained with tea, coffee, wine, soil etc. Used in the same amts. the soaking agents are more effective than washing powders.
