Electric power generating plant - uses IC engine exhaust gas to raise steam and cooling water to preheat boiler feed

The plant has a steam turbine driving an electrical generator. Steam is raised in a boiler by the exhaust gas of a heat engine which also drives a generator. The exhaust of the turbine is condensed in a condenser from which it is returned as feed water to the boiler. The feed water is pre-heated in a heat exchanger between the condenser and the boiler. The heat is provided in this heat exchanger by the cooling water from the radiator of the heat engine. This avoids using bleed steam from the turbine which increases the efficiency of the system.
