The setting gun for mine roof bolts has a magazine from which the bolts are extracted and fed towards the setting mechanism by means of two separate feed chains(26). Both the chains are driven synchronously by a common drive motor. The magazine has a rectangular frame(18) open one side, with a protective cover over the top. The chain links carry plates(46) which are in pairs, with cut-out corners facing each other, forming recesses to hold the bolts(47) and feed them towards the setting mechanism. The magazine has a guide at the top, swung about a hinge at the bottom, at the open side, to retain and release the bolts for feed. The drive spindles carry double chain pinions.
|
