<p>A pushbutton switch is used which when depressed works against a helical spring. The switch may be assembled manually or by machine on a production line, the design ensuring that the spring is inserted correctly whichever method is used. The easy assembly is based on being able to introduce the spring onto its seating with only slight compression before fitting the switch cover plate. The operating button (7) is formed at one end of a shaft (3) which carries a contact bridge (5) part way along its length. The opposite end has a flange (12) which locates with two guides (4) integral with the case (1). A side cover plate is fitted after assembly using locating studs and recesses (41).</p> |
