The strong room utilises pressurised containers(2a, 5a) to supplement the protection afforded by normally reinforced walls(2, 5). The containers take the form of hermetically sealed envelopes, which line the interior walls of the strong room, and act with pressure variation detectors(2b-5b) which affect the alarm. The pressure within the envelopes is superior to the ambient pressure inside the strong-room, and the envelopes may be inflatable. An envelope is deployed to line the faces of each wall and the roof slab, and the base is protected by an envelope(5a) beneath a false floor(6). The detectors may act upon abrupt changes of pressures, and a low powered machine e.g. a pump(9) may be provided to inflate the envelopes. The pump may have controls which ensure that a datum pressure is maintained in the envelopes.
|
