<p>The electric controls for the car are replaced by press tabs near the steering wheel and linked to a central logic control by low current lines. The logic control operates the various electric components such as lights and wipers. The driver does not have to release the steering wheel, nor loose driving concentration to operate the switches. The press pads are arranged in patterns on common bases. Each tab, when operated, connects the appropriate signal line to earth. The logic control can be extended so that e.g. the direction flashers are only cancelled when the steering is centred, and after the vehicle has travelled a minimum distance. It can also be arranged so that the self cancelling effect is inhibited when reversing.</p> |
