The electrical program control device permits multiple program control of a household machine, e.g. a washing machine, using an intermittently progressive program unit operating various contacts according to its position, and is designed for application to many different types of machine with few or only on interchangeable parts, e.g. the program units. Contacts operated in combination in a given code format are connected to a circuit contg. programmed electronic read-only store holding programs consisting of permitted instruction combinations. Each instruction corresp. to a program step is transferred to the electrical operating elements on demand including the program unit drive.
