The surgical instrument for carrying out female sterilising operations is used to position a ring around tubes inside the patient's body. The instrument has a branch connection (16) with a tube (17) extending sideways, with another branch for an extension carrying an eyepiece (21) forming an endoscope. The branch also has the operating members at one end, and a long tube (13) at the other end, housing an inner tube (14) through which passes a rod carrying a pair of tweezers (12). The inner tube can also be used for fitting the ring. This action is carried out by a mechanism with a control wheel (40) mounted at the operating end. This inner tube has a gripping handle (27) at its outer end. The rod and tubes are caused to slide inside the outer tubes to carry out the required movements.
