Pneumatically damped car seat has the damper (9) at the rear of the seat, with the main body of the damper bolted to the seat. The piston operates on a pivot lever (11) hinged at the front edge under the seat frame, to alter the effective height of the seat. The rear mounting of the damper provides a compact fitting. The seat is tilted about its front edge for height adjustment, while the damper characteristic can be adjusted for different seat loadings.
