The one-piece escalator step made of a light-alloy pressure diecasting is provided with a longitudinal reinforcing member (5) arranged on the inside at the rear part of the treadplate (1). The bottom edge of the longitudinal reinforcing member (5) is connected to the bottom edge of the end plate (2) by laterally arranged supporting struts which carry the bearing and fastening elements (9, 10) for the running roller and for fixing the step to the revolving chains. A longitudinal reinforcing rib (7) is attached in the area of the bottom longitudinal edges of the longitudinal reinforcing member (5), which results in an increase in the section modulus. <IMAGE>
