The desk and chair unit has telescopic guide rails (4) for the chair attached to the side support walls of the desk, whilst the chair (2) has in the region of its closed box (21) beneath the base plate (31) support rollers (25) and a foot plate (3) which extends beneath the table and covers the telescopic rails (4) when the chair is extended out. The foot plate (3) which consists of the base plate (31) which is firmly connected to the closed box (21) and of at least one cover support plate (32, 33) which can be moved relative to the base plate (31) is designed so that it can be at least partially folded or slid in, opposite the chair. Since the forces which prevail when the chair is loaded in the extended position are transferred directly to the floor and not via the telescopic rails and support walls the space between these walls can be fully utilised as leg space. |
