A mechanical/biological sewage treatment plant for housing estates and small communities includes a pit with a vertical partition which extends to above the liq. level and ends at the bottom well clear of an incline, so that it provides for a full pit depth only in one half sector. A pump is mounted at the deepest sector. The pump serves a trickling filter, with a filter discharge to the top of the other sector which is divided by another partition into two quadrants, one with a 60 degrees inclined bottom. The second quadrant is joined to a final clarification tank. A cost-saving method of operating a trickling filter continuously and of passing nothing but filtered water to the final clarification tank, without needing special control circuits.
|
