Catalysts for the synthesis of ethylene oxide by oxidation, in the vapour phase, of ethylene by oxygen or a gaseous mixture containing oxygen, said catalysts being prepared from organometallic silver compounds deposited by impregnation on a refractory support, characterized in that the organic substrates of these compounds are essentially formed from a structure of a heterocyclic or aromatic hydrocarbon type, a functional group of acidic nature forming a silver salt and a nitrogen or oxygen atom capable of forming a coordinating bond with the metal atom. |
