Shuttleless loom, esp. of the type in which the weft is inserted with the help of a fluid medium, and a false selvedge is formed, has a clamp for the ends of the weft threads, in front of the inlet to and behind the outlet from the shed close to the edge of the fabric. The clamp is in two parts which work together and their clamping surfaces extend in the warp direction from a point at the insert side of the red, some distance from the path of the weft insertion, to a point close to the beating up line. Used partic in shuttleless looms of the pneumatic type, in which, as the beaten up fabric is released by the reed, it tends to spring back with a loosening of the false selvedge. The clamps at each side hold about fifteen weft ends so that loosening is prevented and the width holding function of the temples is facilitated.
|
