The system is designed to connect and disconnect two paired electrical connectors. It has at least a lever which pivots on one of the connectors and at least a lever engagement means on the other connector. The levers (9a, 9b) pivot around elements (8a, 8b) and have ends (10a, 10b) which can be manually manipulated. The ends (10a, 10b) have bent over parts (11a, 11b) which aid gripping of the levers (9a, 9b). The other ends (12a, 12b) of the levers (9a, 9b) have slots (13a, 13b) in them. These slots (13a, 13b) can be slid and rotated into elements (4a, 4b). The levers (9a, 9b) pivot around points (14a, 14b). The distance separating the slot (13a) from the pivot (14a) is preferably much shorter than the distance separating pivot (14a) from the end (10a) of lever (9a). This gives improved leverage from the lever to give the force necessary for disconnection and connection of the connectors.
