The bubble-bath massage apparatus comprises a fan with a fan motor (M) and an electric heater (HW) which is accommodated in an apparatus housing to which an air hose is connected which feeds the compressed air generated to a bubble grating which can be laid in the bathtub. The fan motor and the heater are fed directly from the ac mains. Guided between the apparatus housing and a separate manual control unit is a connecting cable via which control commands can be transmitted from a transmitting device in the manual control unit to a receiving device in the apparatus housing. These transmitting and receiving devices are fed with an extra-low voltage which is derived from a safety isolating transformer (STR) accommodated in the apparatus housing. In order to reduce the transmission of control commands on the connecting cable (35) and thus to reduce to a minimum the outlay on transmitting and receiving devices, the fan motor (M) and the heater (HW) are switched on for a prescribable time via a time switch (S) accommodated in the apparatus housing. The fan motor (M) can be controlled by a controllable semiconductor element (Tr) in its supply circuit, with the result that only the control command for the control circuit of this controllable semiconductor element (Tr) needs to be transmitted via the connecting cable (35). <IMAGE>
