<p>Sanitary furniture such as bidet or WC pans are assembled from prefabricated sub-components moulded from synthetic resins, specifically sand-filled polyester resin tinted and streaked with colourants to resemble marble. Typically the units comprises a combination of a pedestal or plinth, a basin with a drain outlet and a rim shaped to distribute water around the top of the basin. The units are lighter and tougher than conventional ceramic or bakeward structures. Subcomponents may be made be economic processes, e.g., transfer moulding, to produce forms which cannot be automatically moulded as an integral structure.</p> |
