The wall for forming the boundary of plots of land or roads is easy to construct and also easy to dismantle again. It has a sound-insulating and sound-absorbing effect and is constructed from hollow bodies (2) of water-permeable material, preferably single-sized aggregate concrete, which lie one on top of the other and are at least partly open at the outer sides. The hollow bodies can be filled with sound-insulating material, and plants can be put into the open ends of the hollow bodies for covering the wall with greenery. The wall is therefore also especially suitable as an excellent sight screen, which is simple and inexpensive to erect. <IMAGE>
