<p>Outlet valve housing for diesel engines operating on heavy oil is supported with its upper part in the cylinder cover. A sealing function in the cylinder cover (3) against gas pressure at the lower end is fulfilled in the area of the valve seat (2) by an elastic ring (9) which is self sealing under the effect of the gas pressure. The ring (9) has a U-shaped cross-section, and its arm ends (10) are turned towards the valve housing (8). The ring provides an adequate seal without tightening of fixture bolts to the extent that deformation forces are enacted on the valve seat (2).</p> |
